I am in LOVE with typography, more specifically vintage or 'retro' typography and design! It's so timeless and well just plain COOL! LOL I will be creating several products in this category so stay tuned!
There's just something about black and yellow together, that and black and pink! Two of my favorite color combinations!

So it's been almost a year, really?? I am NOT going to even bother saying "where did the time go". By now I know that it just races by without stopping for a minute to say hello!
So what's happened since I last posted? What hasn't? LOL Let's see, had the scare of my life when I found out that Scrap Girls was being sold last May but I think someone or something must have been watching over us because the sweetest and very smart girl/lady bought the company! (sorry I just think the word 'Lady' sounds funny!) So anyway, Debbie(the new owner of Scrap Girls) has had lots of great ideas and a fantastic 'move forward' attitude and it's been refreshing! Another positive is that I am now working a lot more behind the scenes of SG and LOVING it! I am the Creative Marketing girl - pretty fancy huh?! LOL
The other BIG transition since my last post? We moved, yes - AGAIN! But let's hope this is the last time at least let's hope we stay planted in Oregon for a long time to come! It's great being back near my parents and sisters, aunts and uncles and cousins! Haven't had a chance to visit everyone yet, but hopefully soon!

There are so many apps for my iPhone that I can get lost in the app store, so lately I have been staying away. But I have to tell you about Camera+! I LOVE it! It is a vast improvement over the camera app that comes on the iPhone (Sorry Apple). I love that you can set it to show a grid when you are taking a photo and the great adjustments and effects that you can apply! Right now it's only .99 and worth so much more.

It really looks grainy and toy camera-ish! Love that! I can just imagine a artsy layout using this photo.

I am going to start offering some free designer help items on my blog, I know how much I love it when I find something useful for free or some inspiration. I LOVE swatches, can't get enough of them and they are such a big help to me in my designing so here is the first swatch based on a photo my Dad sent me a few years back. I love the colors in this and think it would make and interesting kit or piece of artwork!

There are many things I love about digital scrapbooking:
1-Inexpensive compared to paper scrapping.
2-No mess (somehow my desk is still a mess)! LOL
3-You can use your favorite supplies over and over again, no more saving that special paper because you are afraid to use it up and not be able to find anymore! LOL
4-You don't have to commit to anything, there is no glue involved! So 2-3 years down the road when you look back at your layouts and think 'What was I thinking?' you can swap out the background, change things around a bit and be done with it!
5-It's easy to find other digital scrapbooking fanatics all over the world, right at your fingertips! I have met some of the greatest people through this obsession! It's comforting to know there are a lot of chronic insomniacs out there to keep me company at 4am!
6-There is no end to the inspiration you will find online.
7-It's easy to 'pack up' your supplies and take your scrapbooking on vacation.
8-You can change the colors of your favorite papers and elements to match your photos, try doing that with a paper layout!
9-You can change the color of your photos, bring an old photo back to life or give a photo of someone a facial before adding it to your layout.
10-Share your layouts instantly with friends and family via email, facebook or flickr!
The only thing I struggle with is that I am a much better paper scrapper than digital, I don't know exactly what it is but I think it has something to do with the fact that I am a very tactile sort of person. I need to touch things. So I struggle with digital layouts, but love love to design digital products, crazy huh?!
So in order to try and combat that to some degree, I have started designing several sets of Digital Layout Templates and my recent favorite is my ScrapSimple Digital Layout Templates: Blendability. These make layouts a breeze and your not limited to the designs provided, you can easily move things around and mix and match with other templates!
